i didn’t look at the article but this is not how body dysmorphia should be dealt with.
anorexia, bulimia and other eating disorders exist in part because of the media’s image of beauty but there is also a psychological component and a predisposition.
not only will you not convince an anorexic girl to stop with one article on “curvy women” but you’re actually not dealing with the underlying issue. instead, you’re replacing one set of traits recognized as attractive (small bodies, boyish build) with another set (large t&a, thick thighs). and the result can be just as damaging. ass implants are growing in popularity, as are breast implants, and people are often influenced by body dysmorphia when they get these plastic surgeries.
aside from all that I really don’t like the way the original link is named - did we need proof? and they “can be super hot”, they’re not just “super hot”? and women have to look “super hot” for their body type to be acceptable?
a much healthier way to deal with body dysmorphia or to spread a healthier understanding of our bodies is to view all body types as healthy, and remove statements of attractiveness from the equation altogether. women don’t have to be beautiful for them to earn their right to exist. that assumption is misogynistic. “super hot” is made up. it’s a lie. not everyone thinks curvy women are super hot. not everyone has to. because curvy women don’t have to be super hot in order to be important and wonderful and powerful human beings.
